Forestry has long anchored BC’s coastal economy – supporting families, driving local business, and generating revenue that funds healthcare, housing, education, and infrastructure. 

Today, the sector is at risk. Harvest levels are far below sustainable capacity, mills have closed, and thousands of jobs – along with valuable expertise – have been lost. With practical policy and coast-specific solutions, BC can restore stability, strengthen communities, and ensure coastal forests continue to be managed responsibly for the future.
